The government claimed Jeffery Epstein took his own life while in his jail cell.

The problem? Inmate testimony, released by the DOJ today, doesn’t match up with what the government has claimed or stated in many of the nights events including protocol being broken and Epstein’s cellmate being removed earlier that day.

I know, big surprise.

The file on the DOJ site is EFTA00098078 if you want to look it up or download. I’m not posting it in fear of violating Facebook policies.

The inmate (housed in a nearby cell, with a good vantage point) described observing the discovery and response to Epstein’s body in the early morning

Epstein was found unresponsive around 6:30 AM (or shortly after), lying flat on the floor of his cell (not suspended/hanging at the time of discovery like the government claimed).

A “rope” (or “rope and knot” per related accounts) was visible around Epstein’s neck.

Guards and staff arrived, attempted revival: They performed chest compressions, mouth-to-mouth, and other efforts, but Epstein appeared “already dead” and was described as “dead weight” when moved.

One guard expressed frustration (e.g., exclaiming “Fuck”), and there was mention of a delay or prior awareness (“Yeah, a long time ago”).

Epstein was still wearing headphones when placed on the stretcher for transport.

Post-discovery, MCC staff quickly covered cell windows and brought in dividers to block views from other inmates and cameras.

The inmate’s cellmate remarked that Epstein “didn’t hang himself” due to lacking typical hanging injuries (e.g., no prominent ligature marks or other signs expected in a full hanging).

One inmate notes seeing “a male come out of Epstein’s cell” during the incident, suggesting possible unauthorized entry (though this detail varies slightly across related inmate statements).

Epstein also was alone overnight after his cellmate was temporarily moved.

That night no checks or counters were performed as required per the inmates

As a reminder the cameras were also not working in the Special Housing Unit where Epstein was kept.

This is of course on top of staffing shortages, the jail being caught falsifying logs, no 30 minute check ins and Epstein left alone against protocol and regulations.

Lastly, both autopsies showed bones in his throat that were broken were more consistent to being strangled and not hung.
